A German luxury car manufacturer needed hundreds of on-site participants to support their engineers in testing next-gen car feature technology. A most demanding brief: 440 participants for 550 sessions over a duration of 25 weeks. Participant criteria: hyper-specific of course—6 supra-categories, 30 categories and 4 sub-categories—to match precise research needs each week.
This wasn’t business as usual; we knew we needed a dream team of hybrid project-customer-experience-talent-and-community managers. We pulled our internal Aces from Rheinschrift and hired external expert reinforcement. We rapidly customized our existing tech stack to process hundreds of candidates’ data and established a robust yet agile workflow. We adjusted as needed and fine-tuned on the go.

Rheinschrift is the dedicated German partner for a global Localization Agency. The agency handles 30+ languages for a fintech multinational that has massive amounts of content in need of localization on a daily basis. High volumes, tight deadlines can sometimes mean tighter budgets too, as was the case here.
To simplify their colossal globalization efforts the client pre-translates their content using Machine Translation (MT). They then route it to their preferred Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tool to be picked up for Machine Translation Post Editing (MTPE) by the agency.
What this means in practice: there are no project handoffs, no overviews of how many files were assigned, what are the varying content types, what are the precise deadlines (though they vary only in degree of urgency) and so on.
It’s a little bit like Christmas morning; presents appear seemingly out of thin air and you won’t know what’s inside until you’ve unwrapped each of them. Multiply this by 30 (languages), turn unwrapping into a sprint race, and suddenly presents start to feel like panic—and you can see why our agency client needed a partner worthy of that designation. On the first day of Christmas, we tried sorting through the files and creating an overview manually. Although this was necessary so that we could match the files with translators who had the corresponding subject-matter expertise and availability—it left us feeling less than jolly.
But on the second day of Christmas, our Operations & Productivity Improvement Lead gifted us an automated project tracker that did all the sorting and gathering for us—start dates, file names, project specific links for translators to access the work, word counts, Translation Memory (TM) matches breakdowns, due dates etc.—all neatly extracted from the CAT tool.
Powered with a clear overview (which updates automatically every day) we could focus on rapidly establishing the account for success.
Building the dream team and establishing trust with the client
We know our linguists (and their unique strengths), so we were able to assemble the core team, who has remained on the account since, virtually instantaneously. But given the pressure pertaining to—steep productivity metrics, 24-hour turnaround times, highly technical financial jargon, oh and did we mention the subpar quality of the MT?—coupled with the need to scale the team, we needed to rapidly assess who’s in and who’s out.
Our internal Language Lead did just that through a tight proofreading and feedback loop with the translators. Within 6 weeks the final expanded linguistic team was established (with about a third of the translators having been switched out).
Simultaneously, our Language Lead who was tasked with representing our agency partner for German vis-à-vis the client, was proactive in their communication especially during the initial learning curve phase. Our Language Lead also suggested improvements to the Glossary and Style Guide and effectively articulated client feedback to our linguists, ensuring things are clear (and kind).
Rapidly we were able to get the quality up to the client’s expectations despite the challenging circumstances of the account. To paraphrase the words of our Language Lead: our team pulls off a Christmas miracle every single day, and we simply cannot praise our translators enough.

Our client offers 50 live classes each day and over 10,000 classes on-demand to help their customers reach their fitness goals. Such huge volumes for localization require a flexible, tech-enabled and user-centered approach—so, Rheinschrift showed up every (changing) step of the way.
We started our collaboration by supporting our client with classical localization services (Transcription, Translation, Editing and Proofreading) enabling them to train their Machine Translation (MT) engine with quality German translations over a two-year period. Once the client was ready, we switched to Machine Translation Post-Editing (MTPE) for about a year, and again, our quality edits were used to train their bespoke LLM.
Enter the final stage (workflow): content is now AI translated and pushed to a small focus-group of users. The focus group acts as the gatekeeper; highly rated translations go live to the masses; poorly rated translations are sent to us. Rheinschrift has 24 hours to fix, edit and polish the low-ranking AI translations before they are launched to the public.
We localize up to 5,000 minutes of video, or 83 hours of classes, per month, 7 days a week.

Our client is a High Perfumery House celebrated for creating some of the most exquisite scents in the world. With close ties to an Arabian Gulf dynasty, their perfumes are regal and opulent.
The challenge in transcreating the client’s content was two-fold. Arabic, in which the original copy was written, is an ornamental language that—much like perfume—lends itself to fragrant expressions. Moreover, Gulf-originated storytelling and (brand) world building does not easily mesh with German sensibilities. We needed to both honor the client’s rich source material and make it sound natural in German.
To get this right, we knew we needed a special linguist to take the lead. Expert knowledge of German language and cultural preferences were an obvious must, but we needed more.
A linguist who would approach the source text with curiosity and respect. A linguist who would utilize their German expertise not force the source into an expected mold but allow themselves to be changed by it instead. A linguist who could walk the fine line, knowing when to push the boundary and when to reign it in.

An American multinational tech corporation needed to test new features (newly localized into German) of their online video calling, e-meeting and e-conferencing tool. To achieve this, they needed good, bespoke German data. Thus, a reliable pool of German natives—to carry out a variety of meetings, in various participant configurations—employing a myriad of the tool’s new functions.
For the data to be useful, the meetings needed to adhere to the following criteria:
Simple enough. What made this project enter the challenging territory is that the meetings needed to be recurring and follow the logical “plot” of a given scenario (i.e.: how to plan a trade show from A to Z and debrief after the fact)—and involve an ever-increasing number of participants.
For a period of five weeks, we ran 20 meetings in parallel per day, composed of a selected roster of 60 participants.
Data collection projects are large by default, with complex setups and precise deliverables and they necessitate an almost obsessive level of organization and coordination between (internal and external) teams. We know this. This project was no exception. But what if we told you that human connection and (theatre-style) improv were the secret sauce here?
Let’s start with the former. So that the scheduling and hectic re-placing (when a participant cancelled for reasons X or Y) remained backstage with our stellar Production and Vendor Relations teams, the project needed an anchor—someone for whom being relaxed was part of the job spec.
This we found in our internal Language Leads who enthusiastically took on the role of moderators and showed up to each meeting (preparatory and live ones) oozing positivity. This helped the participants feel relaxed and therefore give their absolute best performances. The enthusiasm became contagious and soon enough everybody was having so much fun playing pretend.

Our client, a leading health information technology and clinical research organization in the world, was looking for the go-to-partner for German. The client primarily focuses on Phase I-V clinical research and handles sensitive patient data.
Their needs included the localization of Informed Consent Forms (ICF), Clinical Trial Agreements (CTA), Drug Labels and other patient-focused materials, as well as regulatory content. This also entailed a constant flow of document updates necessitating the highest levels of consistency across multiple versions.
Speed was also required for this partnership. The client needed an agile partner for Optical Character Recognition (OCR), file preparation and Desktop Publishing (DPT) services demanding keen eyes for detail in very short turnaround times. As the (industry) adage goes, nobody notices a good translation, but everyone notices a bad one! Our client—a Palo Alto-based SaaS company—was suffering from a case of bad German localization and the impact on their business was palpable.
