What You’ll Do

• Game Localization: Translate in-game text, dialogues, UI elements, and lore, ensuring natural flow, cultural accuracy, and immersion.
• Contextual Adaptation: Adapt jokes, puns, and cultural references to resonate with the target audience while preserving the original tone and intent.
• Gaming-Specific Terminology: Maintain consistency with genre-specific terms (e.g., RPG, FPS, Soulslike) and platform-specific constraints (e.g., text length for UI).
• Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, testers, and voice talents to ensure localized content meets the highest standards.
• Quality Assurance: Review and self-edit translations for accuracy, coherence, and adherence to the game’s style guide.
• Feedback Integration: Incorporate feedback from linguistic testing and QA to refine translations.

What You Bring

• Language Skills: Native-level proficiency for your target language with excellent English skills (C2 level).
• Gaming Knowledge: A passionate gamer with a deep understanding of gaming culture, genres, and terminology (e.g., RPGs, shooters, strategy games).
• Experience: Proven experience in game localization or a related field (e.g., translation, editing, or writing for gaming content).
• Attention to Detail: Ability to spot inconsistencies, errors, and cultural misfits in translations.
• Technical Savvy: Familiarity with CAT tools (e.g., MemoQ, Phrase) and localization platforms.
• Cultural Awareness: Strong understanding of cultural nuances and the ability to adapt content accordingly.
• Reliability: Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle last-minute changes, typical in the fast-paced gaming industry.
